If you’re a Spectrum internet user, the company just dropped a pretty big perk you’ll want to pay attention to.
Spectrum has announced that it’s offering a free Amazon Prime subscription to eligible customers. Usually, Amazon Prime costs $14.99 per month and includes benefits like free two-day shipping and access to Prime Video. This announcement comes just after Spectrum’s second quarter 2026 earnings call, which revealed that the company lost 172,000 internet customers in that time period.
The offer is available to customers on any internet service tier.

If your household qualifies for Spectrum Internet Assist (the company’s low-cost broadband program designed for eligible low-income families and seniors), you are eligible. This includes households that receive SSI of all types (programs like SNAP and Medicaid) and the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
New and existing Spectrum internet customers can take advantage of this offer, and you can be an existing or new Amazon Prime member. If you already have a Prime subscription directly from Amazon, you can move it to this offer at no charge. If your Prime subscription is through a third-party service, such as a cell phone carrier, you’ll probably need to cancel that subscription first and sign up again.
I do live in an area that qualifies for the NSLP, and I am a Spectrum customer, but when I tried to claim the offer, I got a “Service Unavailable” message. It’s possible that the program is still rolling out, so if you see that message and think you qualify, keep checking.

Here’s how to see if you’re eligible for free Amazon Prime:
- Log in to your Spectrum account.
- Go to Spectrum.net/Prime and log in with your credentials.
- On the next page, click “Get Started.”
- Once you create or log in to your Amazon account, Amazon will validate your eligibility.
