The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 is the king of flip smartphones in 2026, partly because there is no competition this year from Xiaomi or Oppo. Samsung not only offers the best overall package on the flip smartphone market but also stands out in terms of value for money. The price for this compact Samsung phone starts at around $1,200 (MSRP, available on Amazon.com), making it cheaper than a Motorola Razr 70 Plus.
However, in a direct comparison, the Razr 70 Plus comes across as a mid-range phone in many areas, whereas Samsung delivers a well-rounded premium flip phone. Even the significantly more expensive Motorola Razr 70 Ultra fails to impress with its test results when compared with the Galaxy Z Flip8.
The difference in class is evident in many areas of our review, not just in the chipset, which is already apparent from the specification sheet, or the feature set. The Galaxy Z Flip8 with theExynos 2600 is not only up to twice as fast as the Razr 70 Plus with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in our benchmark tests, but it also features a USB 3.1 port, which is to be expected in this price range.
