Salons Announce a Shift Toward AI
The reasons aren’t complicated. A lot of salons and spas still lose bookings simply because the process takes too long or feels clunky on a phone screen. Industry surveys put abandoned bookings at close to 70 percent for salons and spas generally, and closer to 80 percent for medspas specifically. Add in the fact that a large share of clients try calling outside business hours, when nobody is at the desk to pick up, and it’s easy to see how much business slips through the cracks every week.
Saloni AI was developed with this very thing in mind. It operates within the existing Salonist platform that is used for scheduling appointments, keeping records, and making payments, therefore allowing the salon owners to utilize everything that their subscription can offer without creating another account.

An AI assistant now takes care of bookings, reschedules, cancellations, and reminders at any hour, including the ones when the salon is closed. Salons using it have reported fewer no-shows, mostly because reminders go out automatically instead of depending on someone remembering to send them.
Saloni AI looks at booking patterns and busy periods, then helps owners build staff schedules around actual demand instead of guesswork. It also tracks performance across a team, which matters more for salons running multiple chairs or multiple locations.
Client Messages That Feel Personal
The system keeps track of what each client tends to book and buy, then uses that to send follow-ups and offers that actually match their habits. Salons piloting the feature have seen more clients rebooking sooner than they otherwise would.
A Company Built From One Salon in Singapore
Salonist has been at this since 2017, when founder Neeraj Gupta launched the platform out of a single salon in Singapore before it spread to other locations in the same chain. Since then, it has grown into a platform used across dozens of countries, with U.S. salons now making up more than half of its client base and India expected to be its next big market.
