Apple has yet to launch the iPhone 18, with only 18 Pro and Duo models debuting this fall. But a new leak points to two iPhone 18 upgrades that will follow the pattern of the iPhone 18 Pro.

iPhone 18 to have longer battery life and 2-nanometer A20 chip, says leaker

This fall, Apple shook up its typical iPhone launch patterns by releasing only three new models: iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, plus iPhone Duo.

But rumors indicate three more new iPhones are coming in early 2027, including a base iPhone 18.

In a new post on Weibo, leaker Digital Chat Station highlights two upgrades coming to iPhone 18 that take inspiration from iPhone 18 Pro:

    1. Longer battery life
    2. 2-nanometer A20 chip

He says the iPhone 18 battery capacity is getting a boost, continuing the trend of battery gains in iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.

And while it won’t be identical to the A20 Pro chip in Pro models, iPhone 18 will also reportedly have an A20 chip built on TSMC’s new 2-nanometer process. This change should enable larger than usual performance and efficiency gains.

One feature not expected to come to the iPhone 18 is the smaller Dynamic Island, per the leaker.

Unsurprisingly, Digital Chat Station says the price of iPhone 18 will also likely go up from the current iPhone 17 cost. That portion of his post seems merely speculative though. iPhone 17 is already $100 more expensive than it was at launch, recently getting bumped to a $899 starting price.
