Serrala provides finance automation capabilities across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payments, Treasury & Cash Visibility, and Fraud & Compliance controls. Through the Serrala Finance Platform, the company supports SAP and multi-ERP environments while emphasizing integration, security, governance, and AI-assisted automation. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Serrala Chief Product and Technology Officer Rami Chahine to learn more.
When asked about his background, Chahine shared:
I’ve spent my career building and scaling enterprise software at the intersection of product, engineering, and platform strategy, starting in data and analytics and moving deeper into payments, treasury, and financial automation.
I’m focused on modernizing mission-critical finance processes in a way that is secure, scalable, and integration-first. Today, as CPTO at Serrala, I lead our product and technology vision to help CFO organizations automate with control across SAP and multi-ERP environments, on-prem and cloud.
When asked about Serrala and his primary responsibilities, Chahine explained:
Serrala has spent roughly four decades helping organizations advance the Office of the CFO by replacing fragmented, manual finance processes with connected, automated solutions and strong controls.
As CPTO, I shape our product and technology strategy end-to-end, including platform direction, architecture and integration strategy, security and compliance, and how we bring innovations like real-time connectivity and AI into production responsibly, especially for SAP- and ERP-centric customers modernizing their landscapes.
When asked about his favorite memory working for the company so far, Chahine recalled:
A standout moment was our first in-person Product Summit at our Hamburg headquarters. Bringing teams together from across regions accelerated alignment, not just on roadmaps, but on shared principles around platform, quality, and customer outcomes.
We’ve kept that momentum through virtual Product Summits, extending global knowledge sharing while maintaining a strong sense of collective ownership.
When asked about Serrala’s core products and features, Chahine detailed:
Serrala supports finance automation across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payments, Treasury & Cash Visibility, and Fraud & Compliance controls.
These capabilities are brought together through the Serrala Finance Platform, with strong integration into SAP and other ERPs.
We’re also expanding AI-assisted capabilities designed to reduce manual effort while maintaining governance, auditability, and security.
When asked about recent challenges in the sector and how Serrala has addressed them, Chahine noted:
The market is changing quickly. Real-time payment rails are expanding, fraud is becoming more sophisticated, and regulatory expectations continue to rise.
At the same time, customers are modernizing ERP environments and want clean integration approaches that avoid unnecessary complexity.
We’ve responded by strengthening a modular, API-first platform, improving cloud readiness, and investing in AI powered intelligent automation with governance so customers can modernize step-by-step without losing control, security, or compliance.
When asked how Serrala’s technology has evolved since launching, Chahine explained:
Serrala has evolved from individual solutions into a more unified finance platform approach.
Recently, we’ve focused heavily on platformization: stronger APIs, more consistent integration patterns, improved cloud capabilities, and AI-assisted features that support faster innovation and better outcomes.
We’ve also expanded integration support across SAP and multi-ERP environments, aligning with customer goals to keep their core ERP landscapes clean and upgradeable.
When asked about some of Serrala’s most significant milestones, Chahine said:
Key milestones include expanding our global customer footprint, strengthening strategic partnerships across the ERP ecosystem, and advancing the Serrala Finance Platform as a foundation for scale.
These steps have improved our ability to innovate faster, integrate more consistently, and support increasingly complex, multinational finance operations.
When asked to share specific customer success stories, Chahine explained:
We’ve seen customers consolidate fragmented payment and treasury landscapes into more standardized processes, improving cash visibility, reducing manual exceptions, and strengthening controls against fraud and payment risk.
The biggest impact is often organizational: finance teams spend less time on operational execution and more time on working capital, forecasting, and decision support, while maintaining auditability and governance.
When asked about funding and revenue metrics, Chahine shared:
We don’t typically disclose detailed financial metrics publicly. What I can say is that Serrala operates from a position that enables continued investment in platform capabilities, security, innovation, and customer success.
When discussing the total addressable market Serrala is pursuing, Chahine said:
We operate across the global market for AP/AR automation, payments, treasury, cash visibility, and financial risk controls, with a strong focus on enterprise and upper mid-market organizations.
Demand continues to grow as finance teams digitize end-to-end processes, adopt real-time payments, and modernize ERP environments.
When asked what differentiates Serrala from its competition, Chahine emphasized:
Serrala differentiates through deep finance domain expertise, enterprise-grade security and controls, and an integration-first platform strategy across SAP and multi-ERP environments.
We help customers modernize incrementally, connecting payments, treasury, and finance automation without sacrificing governance, auditability, or flexibility.
And we’re layering in AI responsibly: improving productivity while keeping humans in control where it matters.
When discussing Serrala’s future goals, Chahine concluded:
Our focus is to keep expanding the Serrala Finance Platform, making it easier for customers to adopt capabilities step-by-step, integrate cleanly with SAP and other ERPs, and operate with strong controls.
We’ll continue investing in responsible AI to reduce manual effort and improve decision support, while maintaining security, compliance, and auditability.
Ultimately, our goal is to help CFO organizations run faster, smarter finance operations at scale.
