Google is giving Galaxy phones a software refresh with its September 2026 Play System update. Galaxy users can now check for the September 2026 Play System update
Unlike a regular One UI update, the Play System rollout targets parts of Android that Google can improve independently. The September 2026 release is now starting to show up on Galaxy devices . In particular, several Galaxy S24 Ultra owners report receiving the latest update, though others say they are still waiting for it
Rest assured, more Galaxy phones will join the rollout as Google expands its availability in the coming days. To check for this month’s Play System release, head over to Settings > Security and privacy > Updates > Google Play system update. If an update is available, install it and restart your phone.

While the update page mentions only security and stability improvements, Google already shared additional changes for September. For example, the Play Store picked up a few small tweaks. The Contribution Hub in the “You” tab lets users submit ratings and reviews while tracking their contributions. The company also introduced short descriptions for similar apps to highlight one key feature.
The September 2026 Play System update may not bring major visible changes, but the improvements help keep key Android services up to date. So, make sure to install the update as soon as it lands on your device.
