Investors can analyze deals, see preliminary loan terms and manage the loan through draws and payoff entirely on Backflip’s platform.
AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Backflip, a vertically integrated lender and technology platform for residential real estate investors, today launched a rebuilt version of the free Backflip app for <a href="https://myappsplus.com/why-some-iphone-apps-dont-appear-in-apple-carplay/” title=”Why some iPhone apps don't appear in Apple CarPlay”>iPhone. Investors can analyze investment properties, see whether a deal is profitable, get preliminary personalized financing terms, and manage the loan in a single platform: loan processing, rehab draws, interest payments, servicing consultation and payoffs. An updated Android version is expected to follow soon.
Backflip’s rebuilt app lets investors analyze deals, see loan terms and manage draws and payoffs in one place.
The launch comes as flip margins tighten. According to ATTOM’s Q2 2026 U.S. Home Flipping Report, the typical flip earned a 21.5% gross profit margin, down from 27.6% a year earlier. Typical gross profit was $60,526, before rehab, financing and holding costs. When margins are thin, investors need to underwrite precisely and know their financing cost early.
In the app, investors can model a deal at the line-item level or get a quick read on whether it works. They can pick comps using Backflip’s comp match score and assess the after-repair value (ARV) based on their business plan. AI-powered insights highlight the key aspects of each analysis, opportunities for upside as well as risks to mitigate. Investors see indicative pricing and eligibility criteria tailored to their deal, even prior to completing a soft credit pull. Every loan inquiry goes to a dedicated Account Executive who can support borrowers to lock final loan terms.
“Backflip’s analyzer is commonly the first place investors go to see if a deal will pencil. Now they can seamlessly procure a fix and flip loan, close it quickly, and manage it post-closing all on the same platform,” said Jake Rome, Founder and CEO of Backflip. “Our repeat borrowers utilizing the platform commonly close loans in less than a week, and new investors get the same tools plus a top-notch team that’s eager to work the deal with them.”
Backflip handles draws and servicing in-house. Draw requests are typically funded in under two days, and each loan has a dedicated servicing associate.
Current loan terms (as of October 2026):
- Fix-and-flip rates start at 7.5% for qualified borrowers and properties.
- Interest is charged only on funds disbursed (“non-Dutch” interest), not on undrawn rehab funds.
- Borrowers can optimize for lowest pricing (Standard), or choose higher leverage (Altitude), or no out-of-pocket monthly payments (Zero Gravity).
- Backflip also offers ground-up construction loans in select geographies, and DSCR loans for rental properties across the country.
- Fix-and-flip loans are available in 44 states and Washington, D.C.
- All loans are subject to underwriting and qualification.
Since 2021, Backflip has funded more than 3,000 loans totaling more than $860 million. Repeat borrowers account for roughly half of its fix-and-flip loans.
The app is available on the App Store. Full details, loan terms and FAQs are at backflip.com/new-backflip-app/. Lenders and capital partners interested in Backflip’s platform can contact team@backflip.com.
