The moment Halloween wraps, we turn to the holiday season. For most people, that means Hallmark holiday specials, planning Thanksgiving, and Christmas music on the radio. But for Mashable’s shopping team, it means only one thing: It’s time to prep for Black Friday sales. Yes, we know that Black Friday 2026 doesn’t technically start until Nov. 27, but that hasn’t stopped retailers.

So, we are officially on the hunt for the best early Black Friday deals. And as of this writing, we’ve found huge $200 discounts on MacBook Air laptops, 53% discounts on Bose noise-cancelling headphones, and 50% savings on award-winning QLED TVs, not to mention discounts on Pokémon Lego sets and other items on our holiday wishlists.

So, if you don’t want to wait for Thanksgiving to get your hands on the best gifts of the year, retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Sephora, and Best Buy already have plenty of early deals to entice you. And in a year of relentless price hikes, it’s nice to finally get some relief.

How do we choose the best deals? The Mashable shopping team has an encyclopedic knowledge of the latest tech gadgets, gifts, and trending products. We use price-tracking tools, insider knowledge, and our years of experience covering sales like this to search for the best discounts. We’re looking for first-ever price drops on new products, steep markdowns on past-gen products, and record-low prices on must-have items from Apple, Ninja, Shark, Dyson, and Lego.

We consider ourselves Kindle experts, and we’ve been eagerly testing all of the new Kindle e-readers Amazon released this fall. Even though the new Kindles justcame out, you can already pick up the base model and the new Kindle Click page turner in a discounted bundle. BookTok has been waiting a long time for a proper Kindle page-turner accessory, and we’re big fans.

If you’re not interested in the Kindle Click, we expect all of the new Kindles to get their first real discounts when Black Friday begins, so you may want to add them to your cart and wait until Nov. 27.

    Frequently Asked Questions

This year, Black Friday falls on Nov. 27. While retailers often start featuring their best markdowns on Black Friday itself, there are plenty of early deals worth shopping in the lead-up. Most retailers’ official sales do start before the actual day, so shopping strategically ahead of time can save you from missing out on a deal entirely (or dealing with the chaos the day after Thanksgiving).

The mega-retailer just wrapped up its October Prime Day sale, but naturally, it’s also getting in on the Black Friday action. While Amazon hasn’t released official sale dates yet (it’s still in the final days of the Holiday Beauty Event), last year’s Black Friday sale started over a week before the official day. As soon as we have available dates for Amazon (and other retailers), we’ll update this guide. Speaking of…

    • Amazon: While no official dates are available just yet, 2025’s Black Friday sale started on Nov. 20 — eight days before Black Friday on Nov. 28.

    • Best Buy: Like Amazon, Best Buy hasn’t announced any official dates yet, but promised a return of the day after Thanksgiving sale with some of the best tech prices of the year, plus a new batch of deals dropping for Cyber Monday. Most deals will be available online and in-store, with some exclusive to in-store sales. Following past precedent, Best Buy will also drop special deals through November, in the lead-up to the sale.

    • Walmart: Walmart has three major sale events throughout November: the early Black Friday sale from Nov. 12 to Nov. 15, the Black Friday sale from Nov. 23 to Nov. 29 (with deals online only from Nov. 23 to Nov. 26), and the online-only Cyber Monday sale from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2.

    • Target: Target hasn’t released its full Black Friday lineup yet, but we do know its first Early Black Friday sale kicks off Nov. 5 to Nov. 7. From Nov. 1 to Dec. 24, Target’s Deal of the Day offer kicks off, featuring new deals every day. Every weekend after Nov. 7, the retailer will also drop new limited-time holiday offers.
