WASHINGTON (TNND) —President Donald Trump announced a new Super Intelligence Force (SIF) on Sunday and has already picked members who will lead the charge on AI in America.
According to Trump, Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton will lead the task force alongside Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, Andrew Ferguson, Pentagon Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, Scott Kupor.
The task force is in charge of coordinating the government’s engagement with religious organizations, superintelligence providers, consumers and AI companies.
Trump said SIF will ensure that America continues to lead the world on AI, which he says, “is bigger than the Industrial Revolution, and the internet, and will protect the interests, and improve the lives, of all Americans.’
The team, which is led by Clayton, will report to Trump and the White House Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles.
Trump made the announcement on Truth Social this morning, describing that the task force was created in response to his White House Accord on Super Intelligence that he hosted the previous week.
The president summoned the world’s most powerful tech executives to the White House on Tuesday, where he announced that he would be renaming artificial intelligence to super intelligence in all further government communications.
“We’re going to be signing a document today at about 5 o’clock, renaming artificial intelligence, because it’s not artificial, we all agree on that,” Trump said, “we’re going to be renaming it super intelligence.”
Trump’s full embrace of the use of artificial intelligence comes as Democrats have called for a halt to further developing the technology over fears it will put Americans out of work or at a disadvantage.
White House officials have stressed the importance of AI pushing ahead despite those concerns, explaining that American technologists must lead the AI boom to prevent China or other rivals from dominating the space.
Earlier the same day, the administration rolled out an AI-powered website, America.gov. The site is designed to help citizens access federal information and services, such as filling out passport applications online and enrolling in Medicaid.
‘Anyone who has used Grok or Gemini or ChatGPT will understand instantly how to use America.gov,’ Trump said at an event unveiling the new website.
