In its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), China has placed artificial intelligence at the centre of its industrial strategy, but with apparently clashing goals. China wants technological self-reliance and substantial safeguards around its domestic market, but also freely adaptable AI models1, international diffusion of Chinese AI models and greater cooperation in global AI governance2.

How do we integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other virtual technologies into Jesuit formation? This was the question that brought together Jesuits (formators and scholastics) and lay people (partners in mission) from all over the world for a conference at the Gonzaga University campus in Florence, Italy from 5 to 12 July 2026.

Becoming a millionaire through artificial intelligence (AI) investing doesn’t necessarily mean betting on the next big chipmaker; it could mean finding the companies solving the infrastructure bottlenecks behind the boom.
