People are sticking the Fitbit Air to their bodies, literally, and it works [Gallery]

The Fitbit Air might be one of Google’s most versatile products in a while not just because it’s so simple, but because buyers are finding very unique ways of using it. That includes quite literally sticking the Fitbit Air to your body with tape which, apparently, actually works quite well.

Google designed the Fitbit Air to be worn around your wrist, where most health trackers sit, and that’s where most buyers probably do use it. Early on, many figured out that the included band was a good way to dual-wield both the Air and a traditional watch on the same wrist, and there are dedicated products that have since come out to do that a bit more elegantly.

But another way to use the Fitbit Air? Stick it to your body, literally, with tape.

A recent thread on Reddit showed a Fitbit Air owner who started using kinesiology tape – also known as athletic tape, usually used to support sore/strained muscles – to attach the tracker to their upper arm. The subtle location is out of sight and, at least according to this user, offers “more accurate data.” That checks out, as bicep trackers can often provide slightly more accurate data by cutting out motion from the wrist, among other things. Whoop offers an official bicep band for its tracker, and there are a host of bicep bands for Fitbit Air around the web.

But this trend of just using some tape has been around for a little while, actually. We found a few morethreadsof users who have been sticking the tracker to their upper arm, and it sounds like it works out pretty well. And it’s not the only other place people are putting the tracker, as some mention putting it in their sock and elsewhere.
