The Amazon Kindle Kids 16GB is designed for young readers who want a dedicated e-reader rather than a tablet, and it is now on sale on Amazon. This kid-focused version of the base Kindle keeps the focus on books, with a lightweight design and features that make reading easier at home or on the go.
Amazon gives the Kindle Kids a 6-inch glare-free e-ink display with 300 ppi sharpness, so text looks clear whether kids are reading in daylight or indoors. It also includes dark mode, USB-C charging, and battery life that lasts for weeks on a charge. With 16GB of storage, including about 11.5GB available for books, there is plenty of room for a growing library. The package also comes with a kid-friendly cover and a 6-month Amazon Kids+ subscription for access to age-appropriate reading content.
This model is ad-free and comes with parental controls, which help adults manage reading time and choose which content is available. Amazon lists it as the Kindle Kids (11th Generation, 2024 release), and it is aimed at children aged 6 and up who primarily want black-and-white reading rather than tablet-style extras.
Now for the deal. Amazon has dropped the Kindle Kids 16GB from its $179.99 RRP to $122.99, a 32% discount. That also makes this the best deal we have seen this year, and the lowest price since summer Prime Day. It also has a 4.4-star rating, which adds even more value to this offer.
