On the day Apple is set to unveil its first ever touchscreen Mac, a startup is trying to persuade us that we instead need a touchscreen mouse, compatible with both Mac and PC.
The mouse has a 3.1in touchscreen supporting app-specific shortcuts as well as a mini multi-touch trackpad and customizable hardware buttons …
The project is currently live on Kickstarter, with a funding deadline of December 8th. Kickstarter pricing is $199, with retail pricing set to start at $249.
Super Mouse features a 3.1″ touchscreen that gives you a faster way to get things done. Turn your everyday actions into one-touch shortcuts. Launch your favorite apps. Switch tools. Run the commands you use most. All with a simple tap.
And you’re in control of what goes on the screen. Choose the shortcuts you want for each app, arrange them the way you like, and Super Mouse automatically brings up the right ones as you switch between apps […]
Super Mouse comes with customizable physical Hyper Keys that let you trigger your favorite shortcuts and even entire workflows with a single press. Need to open multiple apps, run a series of commands, or repeat the same steps throughout your workday? Set up a Hyper Key to do it all with one press.
Double-tap, and Super Mouse becomes a multi-touch trackpad. Switch to trackpad mode and use familiar finger gestures to scroll, swipe, and zoom.
You can also display some content directly on the mouse screen, and even access a swipe keyboard.
Everything is configuredws. Once configured, the mouse detects the app you’re using and automatically displays the controls you’ve created for it. You can create different profiles for work, home, and more
Shipping is set for February 2027. We of course include the usual cautions that Kickstarter projects can fail and shipping dates can slip.
