Samsung’s One UI 9 update is now available for one more mid-range smartphone. The Galaxy F56 is the latest device to receive the big Android 17-based update, bringing several new features, interface improvements, and security enhancements. The rollout has started in India, which is where the phone is primarily sold.
Galaxy F56 receives One UI 9 with October security patch
The Galaxy F56 is a premium mid-range smartphone Samsung sells in India and select other markets. The device is now receiving the One UI 9 update in the region with firmware version E566BXXU7DZJ1. It weighs approximately 2.2GB and includes the October 2026 security patch.
Interestingly, the Galaxy F54 received One UI 9 last month, ahead of its newer sibling. The Galaxy F55 is also still missing the update. It is one of the very few Galaxy devices awaiting One UI 9 (see the complete tracker). Hopefully, Samsung will deliver the new version to it soon. Users can always check for updates from Settings > Software update.

Based on Android 17, this update brings several changes to your Galaxy phone’s interface and functionality. One of the notable additions is expanded Quick Panel customization. Users can rearrange controls and resize the brightness and volume sliders to better suit their preferences. The lock screen also gets a redesigned clock that automatically adapts to the wallpaper, adding another personalization option.
Samsung has also added a new Warranty and care menu, quicker phone-locking options, and alerts that notify users when an app accesses their location. Samsung Notes and DeX receive improvements to make note-taking and multitasking more convenient.
One UI 9 also refreshes Samsung Health with a redesigned interface, improved charts, and better health data logging. Bixby gets improved conversation management, while accessibility features receive several additions, including Text spotlight and Select to speak. The latter can read or describe selected on-screen content aloud. Note that some new features may not be available on some Galaxy devices.
