Galaxy A18 picks up September 2026 security update
The Galaxy A18 LTE is currently receiving its first update in markets including Germany, Poland, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Georgia. The update carries firmware version A185FXXS1AZI4 and includes the September 2026 security patch. Since the A18 already runs Android 17-based One UI 9, don’t expect any major changes with this update.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A18 only a few days ago, and the company may have wanted to fix early bugs before more customers get the phone. The update should also bring some software fixes for a more stable experience.

The September 2026 Security Maintenance Release (SMR) addresses 90 security issues identified by Samsung, Google, and their partners. That makes the update worth installing even if you don’t notice any visible changes after updating.
If you already own a Galaxy A18, you can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the package is available, download it and tap Install now. The update isn’t available in every market yet. Samsung rolls out software updates in phases, so availability can vary depending on your region and device variant.
If you don’t see the update yet, there’s no need to worry. Keep checking over the coming days and install it once Samsung makes it available for your device.
