    • Analytics solution provider Confluence has launchedPOINT, an AI-enabled automation that works alongside Confluence solutions to reduce manual effort in processes and workflows.

    • POINT includes tools to help transform and validate documents in multiple formats, including unstructured data. Unstructured data is especially important to organizations, as 29% of annual data growth is attributed to it according to thisCloud Security Alliance report.

    • Confluence noted that POINT comes with AI-powered validation, audit trails and notifications for flagged errors. Visibility into AI tool actions is important for preventing errors in the process.

“Confluence POINT will expand the scope of our technology, optimize workflows, and reduce manual effort — ultimately driving efficiency through deliberate use of embedded AI. This is a long-term commitment, and you will see our AI capability continue to grow across our entire product suite in the months ahead,” said Mark Evans, founder and chief executive officer, Confluence Technologies in the announcement.

Confluence mentions that its POINT Validation tool will help users transform and validate documents in different formats. This includes unstructured data.

“Unstructured data is where things really get messy for most organizations. It lives in emails, documents, chat logs, recordings… places that aren’t consistently governed or even visible,” said Mila D’Antonio, principal analyst, Omdia.

Companies likeBox,IBM and NVIDIAhave also shifted their focus to unstructured data to provide context and scale.

Visibility into what actions AI takes is important for protecting enterprise data. Confluence says its new solution will provide validation through automated, independently run checklists. All actions taken by the AI will be auditable, with errors flagged for review.

Enterprises need to be able to explain why decisions were made, who approved them, what assumptions exist and if they are valid to be successful said Terri Coles inthis No Jitter article.

Disclosure: Informa TechTarget, the publisher behind No Jitter, also owns Omdia. Informa TechTarget has no influence over No Jitter’s coverage.
