A mouse with a touchscreen just hit Kickstarter, and its feature list borders on insanity

The absolutely absurd idea of putting a touchscreen display on a mouse isn’t exactly new. Turtle Beach already did it with its Command Series MC7, which features a 2.25-inch control screen. But apparently, even that wasn’t ridiculous enough for Arctic Fox Technologies. Its new Super Mouse looks like someone took the chunky old Atari ST mouse, slapped a touchscreen and scroll wheel on it, and called it an upgrade.

The result is a rather unusual-looking mouse that is now on Kickstarter, starting at $199. And as ridiculous as it looks, some of its features are genuinely intriguing.

Want a keyboard on your mouse?

The Super Mouse features a 3.1-inch touchscreen with a 720 x 720 resolution. It can launch apps, run shortcuts, and execute entire workflows with a single tap. More interestingly, the controls change automatically depending on which application you’re using. I can see this being useful for designers who constantly switch between Photoshop, Figma, and other creative software.

If you think this many features crammed into one mouse isn’t enough, Arctic Fox has also turned it into a full on-screen keyboard, complete with swipe typing. There’s also voice dictation in over 90 languages, which the company says is processed locally. The screen can double as a multi-touch trackpad if you are tired of moving your wrist to control your mouse, and there are even built-in motion sensors that let you trigger controls by tilting or twisting the mouse. In addition to all this, the mouse also provides physical Hyper Keys for macros, and all this customization is handled via the Flow app for Windows and macOS.

But would you actually want to use it?

My biggest question is whether stopping to tap a screen on your mouse would actually be faster than using a regular keyboard shortcut. Its boxy shape also raises some ergonomic concerns, although Arctic Fox says the design keeps your palm away from the screen and prevents accidental touches. The strangest omission I found on such a feature-packed “futuristic” mouse is the absence of wireless support, as the mouse uses a USB-C cable for connectivity.

The Kickstarter campaign offers early units for $199, compared to a planned $249 retail price, with deliveries targeted for February 2027. Whether it actually makes anyone more productive remains to be seen, but at the time of writing, the mouse already has 85 backers who are likely quite eager to try this concept.
