Razer just announced a pair of ANC earbuds with a cool take on USB-C, aimed directly at mobile gamers.
Wired earbuds are coming back. Not in the sense that they ever died for the hard-core audiophiles or those who want a simple audio solution, but from an investment perspective. Apparently, companies like Bose and now Razer think it’s a good time to start offering wired USB-C earbuds again, and I’m not complaining.
The Razer Hammerhead V3 Chromaare poweredSB-C connector, which positions them properly for landscape phone use rather than passive music listening
The buds have ANC and come with an in-line mic with volume and playback controls, connected by a very green and very “Razer” round cable. Users can choose between several audio presets or create a custom one based on personal preferences. If you decide to use them on your PC, Razer’s Hammerhead V3 Chroma earbuds support THX Surround Sound 7.1.
They also wouldn’t be a Razer product without RGB, or “Chroma.” It’s not clear from the product images, but it looks like the Razer logo cycles colors on the back of each bud.
The new earbuds are a direct successor to the Hammerhead V2 earbuds, released just over 10 years ago. They’ve released several wired options since, but these are directly aimed at mobile gamers with support for PC gaming.
Razer’s Hammerhead V3 Chroma earbuds are available from the company’s website and Amazon for $79.99.
