Colombo, Oct. 19 (Daily Mirror) – SriLankan Airlines has warned passengers against fraudulent mobile applications impersonating the airline and urged the public to download its official app only from authorised platforms.

In a public advisory, the airline said it did not distribute its mobile application through unofficial websites, social media links, messaging platforms or third-party app stores.

The airline also cautioned customers against downloading applications through links shared

SriLankan Airlines stressed that it would never request one-time passwords (OTPs), banking PINs, credit card details or other financial information through such applications or communications.

The airline said its official mobile application was available only through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Passengers were advised to verify that the publisher was listed as SriLankan Airlines Limited before downloading or updating the application.

It further said that official promotions, offers and digital services were available through its official website, www.srilankan.com, its mobile application and verified social media accounts.

The airline urged anyone who encounters a suspicious application claiming to represent SriLankan Airlines not to install it or enter personal or payment information, and to report it through the airline’s official channels.
