I reviewed their original D5 a few months back, and it was one of my favorite chargers of the year. Now they have brought it all back with some awesome-looking accents and features. The Kuxiu D5is advertised as a 5-in-1 charger because it charges three devices but also features a built-in cooling fan and a diagnostics display. You get:
- Qi2.2 25W wireless charging
- Retractable Apple Watch charging puck
- AirPods charging mat
- Built-in cooling fan that can be manually turned off and on
- Smart color display to give us real-time charging stats
- Includes 45W charging brick and braided cable in the packaging
While it is not as compact as something like their X40 Turbo, there is still some thought put into portability and travel with this charger. The Qi2.2 charger can fold down flat into a small cube you can take wherever you need, and the Apple Watch charger retracts into the charger as well. For me, it has worked best as a permanent desk charger, but it’s nice to know that it is also portable.
My experience
As I mentioned, I have been using the original black color for a few months as my main desk charger. It is reliable, functional, and simple to use. So when Kuxiu announced their Burgundy version, I knew I had to check it out, especially since I was looking for some Burgundy color-matching accessories for my new iPhone 18 Pro.
Since I knew this charger was already great, I wanted to see how closely the color matched the iPhone 18 Pro, and I was impressed by how identical it was. The aluminum parts of the D5 match the Burgundy on the iPhone 18 Pro, and they add other burgundy accents across the charger’s different materials.
Beyond the aesthetics, my favorite part is the built-in cooling fan because it adds tangible value to the setup. I am someone who constantly installs new iOS betas, tests new features, and puts my phone through situations where it tends to get warm. So, having the active cooling system built directly into the charger has been game-changing in keeping my phone efficiently cooled and helping it sustain 25W charging for longer, since it does not get warm. The fan is also dead silent, but if you do want to turn it off, you can do so with one tap. Then, of course, you have the diagnostics display that shows you all the charging stats you need to see from all the active chargers.

Final take
For under $60, I challenge someone to find me a high-quality 3-in-1 charger that offers all the features above and includes all the charging accessories you need to use it at its best. That is why Kuxiu is one of the brands I recommend the most; it’s the performance-to-price ratio that sets them apart. So if you just picked up a new Burgundy iPhone or you are in the market for a new 3-in-1 charger, I highly recommend checking this one out. My only wish is that the next version has a USB-C port so you can charge a 4th device, like a smart ring or something. Otherwise, this thing is great.
