Apple is now confirming the media event on October 16, dubbed the “Welcome home” event. It is expected the event will focus on products for in-home use cases. Many believe the clue is found in the threads on the invitation itself, which creates anticipation for Thread compatible gadgets. Thread being a more universal, non-proprietary standard that can link home-focused devices, which are agnostic to HomeKit requirements. Prepare your iPhone for the excitement with this “Welcome home” event wallpaper.

A growing list of anticipated devices is continue to be leaked through the blogosphere. A laundry list of potential new devices is expected, including items such as: video doorbell; in-home camera; outdoor camera; HomePad; HomePod mini; AppleTV 4K; and OLED MacBook Pro.
The new home accessories are expected to be in partnership with LG, where Apple’s own similar devices may be coming in 2027. Bringing the ecosystem together, a table and wall mounted, iPad-like-device-on-a-speaker is expected, called the HomePad. This device is said to run a tvOS-like experience, using iPad widgets. Feeds from the new cameras and other smart home controls are anticipated. The device may have the ability to recognize the voice or image of room occupants and fast switch between user profiles to match.
Regardless of the forth coming gadgets, Apple’s fun analog invitation, invites us to think of home.
