    TL;DR

    • An upcoming Google wearable called the ‘Fitbit Edge’ has leaked in full.
    • It is reportedly a new Fitbit Air-like fitness band, albeit with a small screen and support for a limited set of apps, such as Google Maps and YouTube Music.
    • The device is expected to feature up to seven days of battery life, GPS, an altimeter, and support for displaying notifications.

Google is reportedly getting ready to launch a new Fitbit fitness tracker that sits between the Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5.

According to a tell-all leak from Android Headlines, the device is called the Fitbit Edge, and exclusive images give us our first detailed look at what could be Fitbit’s next screen-equipped tracker.

The Fitbit Edge appears to be a traditional fitness band with a small, oval display, a button on either side, and a sensor array at the back. Android Headlines notes that the sensors look more similar to those on the Fitbit Air than the Pixel Watch 5, although there could be additional sensors for tracking more metrics.

Leaked images show the device in black, green, and orange variants. Interestingly, those colors appear to correspond closely with the Obsidian, Olive, and Canyon finishes offered for the Pixel 11 Pro.

The band also appears to use a pinch mechanism for swapping straps, rather than the attachment system found on the Pixel Watch.

As far as specs and features go, the Fitbit Edge will reportedly offer up to seven days of battery life, GPS, an altimeter for elevation tracking, and automatic activity recognition. It will also reportedly display notifications from your phone and support a handful of apps, including Google Maps, YouTube Music, and Find My Phone.

Google hasn’t released a new Fitbit Charge since 2023, leaving the future of the lineup somewhat uncertain. The Edge looks like it could fill that gap, offering a tracker focused on health and fitness rather than being a full-fledged smartwatch.

That puts it in an interesting position within Google’s wearable lineup. The Fitbit Air is designed to be as distraction-free as possible, while the Pixel Watch 5 offers a much more comprehensive smartwatch experience. The Edge appears to sit right between the two, with support for both Android and iOS.

    Pricing and availability

According to the report, Google could launch the Fitbit Edge this month. That would put it in stores ahead of the holiday shopping season, which would make sense for a device positioned as a more affordable alternative to a smartwatch.

Previous Fitbit Charge models have ranged from $129 to $179, while the Fitbit Air starts at $99. Android Headlines estimates that the Fitbit Edge could land somewhere between $149 and $199.
