- Google announced Android 17 QPR1 on September 17.
- While older Pixel phones have been getting their updates, QPR1 has yet to hit the Pixel 11 series.
- The Pixel 11 has already been involved in other incidents where it seemingly had to skip updates.
It’s supposed to be simple: If you want access to the latest and greatest Android features ahead of anyone else, you buy yourself a Pixel phone. And since not every advanced new tool that comes out is going to support the oldest Pixel models, if you want to make sure you’re staying on the cutting edge, you pick up Google’s latest Pixel model as soon as you can. So why the heck are Pixel 11 users still waiting for their Android 17 QPR1 updates?
We’re rapidly coming up on one month now since Google formally announced the availability of Android 17’s first Quarterly Platform Release — QPR1. Containing the largest collection of new features since Android 17’s debut, we’ve understandably been eager to get our hands on it — even if it introduces some performance problems of its own.
