UiPath Inc. is updating its namesake automation platform with more than a dozen new features designed to save time for knowledge workers.
The company debuted the enhancements today at its FUSION conference in Las Vegas. Many of the features are either available today or will launch next month.
The company’s platform uses artificial intelligence <a href="https://myappsplus.com/everything-new-coming-to-metas-ai-agent-muse/” title=”Everything new coming to Meta's AI agent Muse”>agents, scripts and third party applications to automate repetitive business work. It can also speed up technical tasks such as software testing. The company says more than 3 million developers use its platform to create automation workflows.
UiPath’s new feature lineup is headlined by a tool called Cartographer. It eases the first step of automation initiatives, which is determining how employees perform the manual task that a company wishes to speed up. The process can involve weeks of work. The reason is that companies must not only determine the typical manner in which employees perform a given task, but also how they respond to unusual developments and errors.
Cartographer automatically collects the necessary data. It then provides a ready-to-use automation workflow complete with features for measuring its effectiveness. Once the workflow is deployed in production, a feature called the Decision Ledger logs the actions that it performs. Enterprises can use that information to make accuracy enhancements.
“A process map tells you how work is designed to run,” said UiPath founder and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Dines. “UiPath Cartographer is the key to uncovering the operational knowledge of how that work actually runs, with every exception and every judgment call included. It’s the first product built to capture both and keep them in sync.”
Cartographer is available today. Next month, it will be joined by a set of enhancements to Test Cloud, a component of UiPath’s platform that speeds up software testing initiatives.
Engineers scan applications for bugs using scripts that simulate user activity. Writing those scripts, collecting their findings and extracting key data points can be highly labor-intensive. Test Cloud is receiving a feature called Autonomous Exploration that promises to speed up the task. It enables engineers to test an application by defining high-level bug detection goals.
Test Cloud can also mix manual and automated testing approaches. According to UiPath, engineers now can have the platform run their manually-developed tests on their applications. A new AI agent called UiPath Delegate automates administrative tasks such as preparing interface test summaries.
The third major focus of today’s product is the UiPath Integration Service. It provides connectors that enable automation workflows to interact with third party applications.
UiPath is adding features that make it possible to integrate workflows with databases and MCP-based AI agent tools. Another new capability, Relay, connects to on-premises workloads. Customers can store the login credentials their workflows use to access external applications in their existing secrets vaults. That removes the need to keep a separate copy of the credentials in UiPath, which eases administrators’ work.
The company is also rolling out several other platform enhancements. New governance controls will help enterprises ensure that the AI components of their automation workflows operate reliably. Plus, a feature called UiPath Coding Agents that made its original debut in March has moved to general availability. It enables developers to create automation workflows using AI tools such as Claude Code.
