Massachusetts became the latest state to force data centers to bring their own power, but this time there’s a twist. A new state mandate would require developers building data centers larger than 25 megawatts to provide clean power or pay into a ratepayer protection fund.

Nvidia is doing everything it can to keep fueling the AI buildout that has underpinned its own good fortunes. On Friday, it announced a partnership with Cloverleaf Infrastructure, a company that lays the groundwork for data centers.

Bill Gates-founded TerraPower is one of the latest to throw its hat that into that ring, with Bloomberg reporting that the startup plans to announce its first data center project this year.
