Google has published the first batch of release notes for the September 2026 Play System updates. The latest batch brings improvements to Play Services and Play Store. These changes should reach eligible Samsung Galaxy devices in the coming weeks.

Here are the details of the Play System updates for September 2026

Google keeps improving its core Android components through regular Play System updates. Speaking of Play Services version 26.35, the latest release brings several changes to account management, location sharing, and Google Wallet.

The update has improved Supervision on phones and Wear OS devices. It also brings new infrastructure within the Kids Auth Module to help manage and display regulatory compliance notices on devices.

Furthermore, Google adds safety status information to shared locations through the location sharing API. If you are a Google Wallet user, you can now use NFC to add physical transit cards and balances to Wallet. Thanks to the new “Add a card” success screen on Wallet, you get an improved UI experience.

Meanwhile, Google has updated the Play Store to version 53.1 with several improvements to app discovery. The similar apps section on app detail pages can now highlight a key feature of related apps.

When browsing recommendations on the other devices sub-navigation, you can now see which devices already have an app installed. The Play Store is also getting a new navigation bar that lets you explore more interests from Play home pages.

Several batches are expected throughout the month as Google continues to publish more release notes. As usual, there’s no word on when Samsung Galaxy devices will pick up the September 2026 Play System updates. You can keep an eye out for the update update. We’ll let you know once the rollout begins
