Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI 9.0 update based on Android 17 for the Galaxy A56. The release comes more than a month after the company opened the One UI 9.0 beta programme for the smartphone, according to a SamMobile report. The Galaxy A56 joins the Galaxy A27 and Galaxy A37, which recently received the same update, as well as the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, and Galaxy Z Flip5.

The Galaxy A56 Android 17 update carries firmware version A566SKSUADZJ1. Samsung has not yet disclosed the download size of the update package. Users can confirm the firmware version after installation to ensure their device is running the stable One UI 9.0 build.

One UI 9.0 brings several changes over One UI 8.5. The update adds more options to customise the Quick Panel, allowing users greater control over the layout. Samsung has also introduced improvements to Samsung DeX and Samsung Notes. Accessibility features have been upgraded as well. Additionally, the update includes a location privacy indicator that alerts users when an app accesses their location.

The update is currently rolling out in South Korea, Samsung’s home market. Going by the company’s past rollout pattern, the stable One UI 9.0 update is expected to reach other countries, including India, over the next few days. Samsung has not shared an official schedule for the wider rollout.

Galaxy A56 users can manually check for the update by following these steps:

    Open the Settings app.

    Tap Software update.

    Select Check for updates.

Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the update.

Users should back up their data and keep the battery charged above 50 per cent before installing.
