    Ariz., Oct 22, 2026

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Resideo Technologies (NYSE: REZI), a leading global provider of home comfort, security and safety solutions, announced plans to release a software update in the first quarter of 2027 that will enable its existing Honeywell Home ElitePROTM, X7S and X8S smart thermostats to support the new Adaptive Temperature Control and Clean Energy Guidance capabilities introduced with Apple’s new HomeView offerings.

The update will allow homeowners with compatible Honeywell Home smart thermostats to take advantage of these new features without replacing their existing devices or requiring additional professional installation. The planned update underscores Resideo’s commitment to developing innovative future-ready products that combine advanced sensing and control technology with the flexibility to work across leading smart home ecosystems.

Honeywell Home Smart Thermostats Combine Award-Winning Design and Advanced Home Comfort Features

Resideo’s latest generation of Honeywell Home smart thermostats combines premium design, intelligent sensing and professional grade HVAC control to deliver a more connected and personalized home comfort experience.

Recently recognized by Popular Mechanics in its 2026 Home Innovation Awards and by ACHR News as a 2026 All-Star Residential Product of the Year, these thermostats reflect Resideo’s continued investment in differentiated solutions that make homes more comfortable, convenient and energy efficient.

The ElitePRO, X7S and X8S smart thermostats offer a range of advanced capabilities to enhance the homeowner experience while providing the precision, control and installation flexibility professionals expect:

    • Premium user experience: A large, customizable touchscreen display of up to five inches, plus the ability to stream live video from compatible Ring® and First Alert® doorbells.
    • Advanced sensing and control: Radar-based occupancy detection, support for multiple room sensors, ability to add multiple indoor air quality (IAQ) devices and Resideo’s Redlink™ wireless technology to enable communication and control of key HVAC system components.
    • Professional-grade installation: Built with the features professionals need to install and configure systems efficiently, including one-tap configuration, support for C-wire adapters and remote equipment interfaces, the Honeywell Home UWP® wall-mounting plate and flexibility across a range of HVAC applications.

Designed for flexibility, Honeywell Home smart thermostats currently support smart home ecosystems including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Home Assistant and Samsung SmartThings, and are Matter certified.

Homeowners can also manage their Honeywell Home smart thermostats through the Resideo Connect app without the need for any smart home hub. Professional installers benefit from dedicated tools including the Resideo Technician app and Resideo One portal, which simplifies installation, configuration and ongoing customer support.

Resideo Connects the Home Through Innovation and Trusted Professionals

Building on more than a century of innovation that began with the company’s first thermostat, Resideo develops professional solutions for the critical systems of the home, designed to deliver comfort, reliability and performance.

“Homeowners should have the freedom to choose the products and platforms that best meet their needs,” said Tom Surran, president and CEO of Resideo. “Our approach is to combine differentiated hardware, advanced sensing and control and open connectivity to deliver solutions that become more capable over time. By bringing new Apple Home capabilities to thermostats already installed in homes, we are demonstrating how continued software innovation can enhance the value of our products while preserving the homeowner’s original investment.”

Resideo’s product development strategy is driven by its relationships with more than 100,000 professionals worldwide. Through more than 15 million installations annually, these professionals bring Resideo’s comfort, safety and security solutions into homes.

Together, Resideo’s connected technologies and professional relationships help create homes that can better understand what is happening and respond intelligently. This connectivity creates new opportunities to improve comfort and efficiency while helping the professionals who install and service these solutions identify and address issues before they become more costly problems.

Resideo is a global building technologies company that is a leading developer and manufacturer of critical control and sensing solutions for residential markets. The company serves professional installers and integrators across diverse product categories, such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning controls, combustion, life safety, security and water.
