Starting tomorrow, Orangetheory Fitness will allow members to connect the Apple Watch to the club’s proprietary in-studio performance-tracking experience. Using a personal Apple Watch with the Orangetheory system will require a one-time fee.

OTconnect for Apple Watch <a href="https://myappsplus.com/1password-launches-solution-for-safely-using-logins-with-ai-agents/” title=”1Password launches solution for safely using logins with AI agents”>launches for $99 on October 23

“The new option, called OTconnect for Apple Watch, is part of Orangetheory’s proprietary connected technology platform, which tracks real-time performance and delivers post-class results,” Orangetheory Fitness announced today.

Connecting a personal Apple Watch to the Orangetheory system will require a one-time $99 fee, the fitness club says. Apple Watch connectivity is optional and joins the existing OTconnect Beat solution for Orangetheory’s connected system.

“For a one-time $99 connection fee, members can now use their Apple Watch during an Orangetheory class to access real-time performance data, including calories burned, heart rate and heart rate zones displayed directly on the wrist, in addition to Splat Points.”

The company shares more details about how the OTConnect for Apple Watch system will work.

“Before class, members can start their workout on Apple Watch once it connects to OTconnect. After class, they can review their performance summary directly in the app on Apple Watch, with additional workout data and personalized insights available through the OTF app and

This marks Orangetheory’s second Apple Watch integration

Orangetheory previously introduced Apple Watch integration in 2019 through its OTbeat Link accessory. The $129 device attached to an Apple Watch band and connected the watch to the company’s in-studio heart rate monitoring system.

The new OTconnect integration eliminates the need for that extra hardware, which was discontinued around 2022.

In addition to unlocking OTConnect for Apple Watch, the one-time charge also includes two more perks with “up to two free months of Apple Music and Apple Fitness+.”

“OTconnect for Apple Watch requires watchOS 11.6 or later and will be available for Apple Watch Series 6 or later, Apple Watch SE or later, and Apple Watch Ultra or later,” the company says. You can read the announcement in full here.

The new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are both available now.
