While several Silicon Valley billionaires, including Elon Musk, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, have reportedly sought closer ties with US President Donald Trump during his second term, it is Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang who has established himself as the president’s go-to partner on artificial intelligence (AI) safety, as per a report. This dynamic was on full display last week during the All-In Summit in Los Angeles. While addressing attendees on stage, Huang put an incoming phone call from the US president directly on speakerphone for the audience to hear.During the exchange, Trump reiterated his public stance that growing panic over artificial intelligence infrastructure is a “hoax,” reassuring the crowd that machines are not on the verge of taking over the world. Huang agreed with him and later reiterated his on-stage stance.Policy analysts tell CNBC that Huang commands unmatched access inside the West Wing. Underscoring that proximity, an individual speaking on condition of anonymity confirmed that Huang is scheduled to attend Trump’s upcoming official state dinner honoring Chinese President Xi Jinping next week.
How Nvidia CEO has gained Donald Trump’s trust
Huang’s stature stems directly from Nvidia’s market dominance, the report notes. The company produces the graphics processing units (GPUs) that power models built by OpenAI, Anthropic, and other major labs. From attending private dinners at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida to concluding formal keynote presentations by thanking audiences for “making America great again,” Huang has repeatedly aligned himself with the administration.The two have made at least six joint public appearances since the start of Trump’s second term. Their travels include official visits to the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia, alongside a diplomatic trip to China aboard Air Force One.Earlier this year, Huang wasn’t on the White House’s original list of business leaders set to accompany the president on the China visit in May. He was called in at the last minute and boarded Air Force One alongside Trump during a refuelling stop in Anchorage, Alaska, on May 12, 2026, en route to the Trump-Xi Summit in Beijing. Trump called reports of leaving him out of delegation as fake news.Huang continues to argue that American AI development must accelerate, directly countering demands from some of Nvidia’s largest commercial clients, most notably Anthropic and OpenAI, who are pressing lawmakers for mandatory guardrails.
