Motorola is no stranger to shaking up the smartphone market, and now the firm is doing it again. The tech giant has just announced the release of its new Signature 27, which is one step ahead of its Samsung Galaxy rivals.
On the surface, this might look like just another smartphone, but hidden beneath its glass and aluminium shell is Qualcomm’s supercharged Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor.
It’s the most powerful brain Qualcomm has ever created, and Motorola is one of the very first to feature it.

With the Extreme inside, the Signature 27 should have more than enough muscle to breeze through demanding tasks, while also unlocking smarter AI features, improved photography, console-style gaming and faster downloads.
“The motorola signature 27 represents our ambition to push further into the premium smartphone space, combining breakthrough AI, exceptional performance and premium craftsmanship in a true flagship experience,” said Miles Norman, General Manager, Motorola UK&I.
There’s clearly a lot going on under the body, but there’s also an eye-catching update on the case as well.
On the back is an impressive camera setup. This rear snapper includes a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor alongside a huge 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
Motorola says the setup will deliver sharp images with rich colours and deep contrast, while the powerful zoom should retain plenty of detail when subjects are pulled closer.
Video gets an AI-powered upgrade, too, thanks to Motorola’s Video Enhancement Engine. This creates a real-time intelligence layer that analyses a scene before and during recording, automatically adjusting colour tones to improve the finished footage.
And there’s more for movie and music fans. The Signature 27 is Motorola’s first smartphone to feature Audio by Bang & Olufsen, bringing the Danish audio specialist’s expertise to its built-in speakers.
The Signature 27 also gets a premium aluminium design and the company’s new ArcticMesh cooling system, which uses a redesigned 3D vapour chamber to keep temperatures under control during sustained AI use, gaming and video recording.
Price and full availability details are still to come, but Motorola has confirmed two finishes: PANTONE Coal Smoke and PANTONE Capulet Olive.
“Motorola signature 27 is expected to come to markets worldwide in 2026, with more details to be shared closer to availability,” the company confirmed.
Motorola won’t be the only manufacturer looking to make an impact with Qualcomm’s latest silicon, either, with more Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 phones expected to be unveiled in the months ahead.
