Honor has officially announced its latest flagship in China, with the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max packing powerful specs, upgraded cameras, the latest Snapdragon chip, and confirmed for an global launch later on.
The Honor Magic 9 Pro Max is an all-out flagship with a heavy focus on its cameras, so let’s start there.
Continuing its ARRI partnership that debuted on the Robot Phone, the Magic 9 Pro Max packs a 200MP main camera with “gimbal-level stabilization,” a 200MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Those are arranged on the back in the style of an ARRI cinema camera, and they’re also tuned by ARRI to produce better colors both in photos and videos. Honor is also building out additional hardware including two teleconverter lenses and a “Mobile Video Kit” in partnership with SmallRig.
The front-facing camera is no slouch either, with a 55MP sensor that’s paired with a 3D depth sensing camera for face unlock.
The phone surrounding those cameras packs a punch too.
Honor Magic 9 Pro Max is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and starts at 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Honor is using its own “Imaging Chip H1” to enhance camera processing, with MagicOS 11 based on Android 17 also available out of the box (with all its Liquid Glass-y-ness). The display is a 6.8-inch 2868×1320 OLED panel with Honor’s NanoCrystal Shield on top (which is both anti-scratch and anti-reflective), 10,000 nits of peak brightness – somehow –, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate support, and a 4,320Hz PWM dimming rate for better eye comfort. There’s an 8,800 mAh battery inside with 100W wired charging and 80W wireless, and the whole phone has IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust/water resistance ratings.

The Magic 9 Pro Max is available today in China, but Honor says global availability is coming soon. Europe, MEA (Middle East & Africa), SEA (Southeast Asia), and “other key international markets” are all confirmed at this point, but there’s no reason to expect this one in the US.
Honor also launched the Magic 9 in China.
It has a similar design but with a smaller 6.37-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a very similar camera array, and an 8,000 mAh battery.
