With Apple reportedly planning to unveil new products on October 13, here’s when the company could announce an event, based on the timing of its previous October announcements.
Will Apple hold an October event?
While Apple’s September event history tends to follow a very predictable pattern, the company’s October event history is much less precise, both in terms of when the events are held and how far in advance they are announced.
Since 2010, Apple has held an October event just 10 times, with the most recent one being the Halloween-themed “Scary Fast” event on the evening of October 30, 2023.
Here’s how far in advance Apple has announced each of its October events since 2010:
That said, Bloomberg recently reported that Apple plans to unveil its long-rumored smart home hub, a new generation of the HomePod mini, and a new Siri AI-powered Apple TV 4K on Tuesday, October 13, though it did not specify whether the company will hold an event to announce the products.
If that turns out to be the case, Apple could potentially announce the event as early as next Monday, October 5, but likely no later than Wednesday, October 7.
It’s worth noting that Apple is also expected to announce an OLED iPad mini, new iMacs, and several new MacBook Pros, including touchscreen models, in 2026. So it remains to be seen whether some of those products would be unveiled at the same event, at a separate event, or through press releases.
Looking back, Apple announced new Macs through press releases over three consecutive days in October 2024, while in October 2025, it unveiled the M5 chip alongside new iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Apple Vision Pro models without holding an event.
Of course, 2020 was an unusual year for Apple’s event schedule, with the company also holding separate events in September and October after a rare late-June WWDC, as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted its usual timeline.
Which new products do you think Apple will announce at the rumored October event? Let us know in the comments.
