SpaceXAI’s Grok Bot kicked off the consumer-friendly AI agent app wave this summer. Facing competition from Meta’s Muse and OpenAI’s ChatGPT Dot, Grok Bot just got a new capability upgrade with the help of Anthropic’s Claude.
Grok Bot now uses Claude Opus 5.5 for intelligence
Grok Bot launched in August with dedicated apps for the <a href="https://myappsplus.com/ios-27-2-release-date-when-to-expect-new-iphone-features/” title=”iOS 27.2 release date: When to expect new iPhone features”>iPhone and iPad. An iPad version and more affordable plans arrived in September.
For October, Grok Bot is getting a major backend upgrade that will see Anthropic’s Claude be used for intelligence instead of SpaceXAI/Cursor’s less capable models.
For context, Anthropic became a SpaceX customer this yearas it shopped for compute to power Claude usage.
As of today, Grok Bot can now use Claude Opus 5.5, the newest version of one of Anthropic’s most capable models.
Grok Bot’s upgrade comes as Meta pushes its mostly-free Muse agent, newly available for iPad, and OpenAI builds out ChatGPT Dot, an Astra-powered proactive agent.
Grok Bot is available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Have you used any of these AI agent systems yet?
