Samsung has released a new beta verison of Android 17 for the Galaxy S26, and it’s an exciting one that packs a bunch of the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s features for Samsung’s flagship slab phone.

Since Samsung has been releasing batches of phones by device type, the newest lineup is the Galaxy Z Fold 8, consisting of the smaller, more boxy model and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is essentially an upgraded version following the previous design language the company put in place.

With that, Samsung released One UI 9 in full. It came with features like Call Brief, customized Now Brief cards, and Fan Cam. The software update also incorporated a new implementation of the Google Search bar on the homescreen. And it’s optional, so it doesn’t need to be there if you prefer it not to.

Samsung is currently rolling those features out to the Galaxy S26, S26 +, and S26 Ultra in its One UI 9 beta program, based on Android 17, in builds S948BXXU4ZZHK, S948BOXM4ZZHK, and 5948BXX14BZHK . The changelog lumps the above-mentioned features into one changelog entry. It follows with “improved intermittent device rebooting in specific situations” and “improved usability of ‘Do not disturb’
    mode.”

One UI 9 beta is still only available for Galaxy S26 devices through the Samsung Members app. Other devices are still in line, like the Galaxy S25 series. But Samsung hasn’t made any comment on its rollout timeline for the One UI 9 beta on older devices.
