EliseAI, a startup that develops artificial intelligence tools for real-estate companies and healthcare providers, has raised $350 million in funding.
Andreessen Horowitz and Bessemer jointly led the round. EliseAI said today that they were joined by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Sapphire Ventures and Navitas Capital. The company is now valued at $4 billion.
EliseAI, officially Elise A.I. Technologies Corp., launched in 2017 with a focus on the rental housing market. It offers a customer relationship management platform that property managers can use to store prospect data. It also extracts key information from a company’s interactions with existing residents. A marketing automation engine harnesses that data to tailor promotional materials for each lead.
The second pillar of EliseAI’s real-estate automation toolkit is called the Maintenance App. It’s a mobile client that automatically routes property repair requests to technicians. According to EliseAI, the app finds the most suitable professional for each project based on factors such as availability and the skill sets the work requires. A monitoring dashboard enables property managers to track the progress of repairs.
Earlier this month, EliseAI expanded its real-estate feature set with an AI assistant called Apollo. It automates chores such as sending follow-ups to leads who attended a property tour. Additionally, workers can use it as an information retrieval tool. Apollo surfaces property management best practices and data points such as the average cost of outstanding maintenance projects.
The company disclosed today that its platform supports the management of more than one in six U.S. apartments. The company’s healthcare platform, meanwhile, is used by over 3,500 organizations. Its customers range from small clinics to hospitals.
EliseAI provides a chatbot that can schedule medical appointments and answer patient questions. It says the software is capable of processing up to 95% of inbound inquiries. Following a doctor’s visit, EliseAI automates tasks such as sending prescription reminders.
The platform can also perform some of the back-office work involved in managing patient visits. It ingests patient documents and syncs key information to a healthcare organization’s electronic health record, or EHR, system. That reduces the need for manual data entry, which saves time and lowers the risk of human error.
“These industries are the most complex, the most bespoke, the most entrenched, and the hardest — but they’re also the most important,” co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Minna Song wrote in ablog post. “And they won’t absorb this technology without a tremendous act of building.”
EliseAI will use its funding round to extend its automation features. The company also plans to hire more engineers, software deployment professionals and salespeople.
