KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 28): Dunham-Bush Industries Sdn Bhd will invest approximately RM172 million in the first phase of a new manufacturing facility at SPD Tech Valley in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan, as the heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions manufacturer seeks to expand its production capacity in Malaysia.
The company signed a sale and purchase agreement with SPD Tech Valley Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seri Pajam Development Group (SPD Group), on Friday to acquire approximately 32 acres at the 523-acre freehold industrial park.
Phase 1 is <a href="https://myappsplus.com/everything-we-expect-at-apples-september-iphone-launch-event/” title=”Everything we expect at Apple's September iPhone launch event”>expected to create up to 400 jobs. Construction is targeted to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2028.
The new facility will aim to strengthen Dunham-Bush’s manufacturing capacity, serving Malaysian and international markets.
Dunham-Bush Industries managing director Yu Baoshuang said the company’s decision to locate at SPD Tech Valley was part of its next stage of expansion in Malaysia, adding that the company also saw opportunities from the growth of data centres and other high-value industries in Malaysia.
Previously, Dunham-Bush Industries established a manufacturing plant in Kajang, Selangor in 1998.
SPD Group chief executive officer Ten Wee Seong said Dunham-Bush’s decision to locate its new facility at SPD Tech Valley marked another milestone for the industrial park. “Today marks another meaningful milestone for SPD Tech Valley, and we are pleased to welcome Dunham-Bush Industries. When we first planned SPD Tech Valley, our mission was to create a smart, sustainable and managed industrial park that supports the needs of modern global industry,” said Ten in an SPA signing ceremony held at Menara Merdeka Maybank.
Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim said the SPA reflected investor confidence in the state and the partnership between the public and private sectors.
“Today’s ceremony is more than a commercial agreement. It reflects confidence in Negeri Sembilan as an investment destination,” he said.
Ismail said the state government was targeting RM30 billion in new investments over the next five years, with a focus on investments that bring technology, expertise, quality jobs and opportunities for local vendors and supply chains.
“Our focus is not simply on capital investment. We want investments that bring technology, expertise, quality jobs and opportunities for local vendors and supply chains,” he said.
He also called on Dunham-Bush Industries to work with universities and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions to develop talent and industry skills.
“Global investors today look beyond land and cost. They consider infrastructure, connectivity, talent, utilities and the overall business ecosystem,” said Ismail.
