CarPlay has picked up its fifth major AI chatbot app with the addition of Claude. Anthropic’s iPhone app adding CarPlay is the second AI chatbot app to be updated with support this week.
Since iOS 26.4, Apple has supported conversational apps on CarPlay.
This category includes AI chatbot apps. Siri AI joins the CarPlay party starting with iOS 27. The iPhone software update is currently in beta ahead of the official launch this month.
A few days ago, Meta AI joined the list that already includes ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Grok.
Next is a holdout among the major AI companies: Anthropic.
This week’s Claude iPhone update is the first to include CarPlay support
The app shows a list of recent chats that you can resume, or you can initiate a new voice chat with Claude’s voice function.
Here’s how Claude for CarPlay looks in action:

- Affordable iPhone accessories for CarPlay worth trying
