Apple TV just premiered Nocturne, a new crime thriller that’s earning a lot of praise. But the streamer also has three series all scheduled to wrap up next week. Here’s what’s ending.
Brothers, Small Prophets, and Knife Edge all air season finales next week
It’s rare for Apple to cycle out the majority of its weekly lineup in a single week. More often, the streamer’s schedule sees shows ending and starting in more staggered fashion.
But next week is an exception, with three shows all wrapping up within days of each other:
- Brothers, the Matthew McConaughey-Woody Harrelson comedy airs its finale November 4
- Small Prophets, the very highly acclaimed British comedy also ends November 4
- Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars, the food-centric docuseries wraps November 6
The fate of all three shows is currently an open question, though hopefully we get at least one renewal announcement next week.
Small Prophets seems especially likely to continue on. Its perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score no doubt helps, with critics saying it may be “the finest show to hit Apple this year.”
Additionally, the BBC production was technically already renewed for season 2 last month—but not by Apple. It’s one of the only Apple TV series that’s licensed from a third party. While it’s assumed that Apple negotiated the rights to future seasons, that hasn’t yet been confirmed.
If you’re looking for new series to watch on Apple, the crime thriller Nocturne sounds like a winner, with Stephen Graham (“Adolescence”) playing a serial killer who evokes Anthony Hopkins’ iconic Hannibal Lecter.
For lighter fare, the heartfelt comedy Stick returns next week starring Owen Wilson and Rhea Seehorn (“Pluribus”).

Apple TV is available for $14.99 per month, or you can get it discounted through the Apple One bundle.
