    • As of mid-September 2026, an issue is occurring on Android devices where the “System Services” settings page—which contains a list of system apps essential for running the Android platform—turns completely blank (blacked out).
    • Not only is the “System Services” page blank, but the “Google Play Store” pages for apps normally housed within “System Services,” such as “Google Play services,” are also displaying as blank.
    • For some reason, this issue does not occur on large-screen devices such as the “Pixel Tablet,” “Pixel 10 Pro Fold,” and “Pixel 11 Pro Fold.”

As of mid-September 2026, an issue is occurring on Android devices where the “System Services” settings page, which houses a list of system apps required to keep the Android platform running properly, goes completely blank and blacks out.

Furthermore, it’s not just the “System Services” page that is blacked out; the “Google Play Store” pages for apps normally stored within “System Services,” such as the “Google Play services” app, are also appearing as a blank black screen. In other words, users are currently unable to check for updates for apps housed under “System Services.”

I actually noticed this “System Services” page blackout issue starting around early September 2026, but initially brushed it off as a “temporary glitch.” However, we are now in mid-September 2026, and it still hasn’t been resolved.

For the record, in my own testing environment, I have confirmed this issue occurring on my “Pixel 10,” “Pixel 10 Pro XL,” “Pixel 11 Pro XL,” “Pixel 9a,” and “Nothing Phone (3a).”

Interestingly, while I have confirmed that this “System Services” page blackout issue is happening widely across Android devices, for some reason it does not occur on large-screen devices like the “Pixel Tablet,” “Pixel 10 Pro Fold,” and “Pixel 11 Pro Fold.” It’s quite a mystery.

I will provide another update as soon as there is any progress regarding this “System Services” page blackout issue affecting Android devices. If you are experiencing a similar situation, I recommend sending feedback to Google. I have already sent mine.
