iOS 27.2 launched last week with a lot of new features, and also several ways you can customize your iPhone. Here’s what’s new for iPhone personalization.
#1: Exclude apps from Siri and Search

Inside Settings ⇾ Siri there’s a new ‘Excluded Apps’ section in iOS 27.2. This makes it easier than ever to remove certain apps from being accessible to Siri, Search, and more. Apple says:
Apps added to the list below will be excluded from Siri, Search, and suggestions.
With Siri AI, Siri can do more than ever before. But if there are certain apps you want off-limits, whether for privacy reasons or otherwise, you can add them to this list. For example, if there’s an app with a similar name to something else, adding it to the ‘Excluded Apps’ list can ensure Siri won’t mistakenly think you’re referencing that app anymore.
#2: Customize Messages suggestions

iOS 27.2 adds a new Messages feature called Suggestions that I’m a big fan of. When relevant content is detected in a conversation, you might see a Suggestion appear underneath a message. For example, if a friend asks you to do them a favor, you might see “Add to Reminders” below the message.
- Add to Calendar
- Add to Reminders
- Add to Notes
- Show in Maps
- Flights and Packages
You can fully customize these to your own preferences and needs. Just go to Settings ⇾ Apps ⇾ Messages ⇾ Suggested Actions to disable whichever Suggestions you don’t want to see.
Historically, Apple TV has only ever supported user profiles on tvOS. It’s an odd limitation considering every other streaming service offers profiles across platforms.
But finally with iOS 27.2, profiles are now available on iPhone too, letting you customize the content in the Apple TV app based on who’s watching.
Choosing a profile not only gives you personalized recommendations from Apple TV, it also lets you keep the ‘Continue Watching’ queue separate for each person. And if you’re setting up a profile for a child, you can set content restrictions too.
