XREAL Aura already works with all your favorite <a href="https://myappsplus.com/android-google-play-system-update-released-october-28-2026/” title=”Android Google Play System Update Released (October 28, 2026)”>Android apps thanks to Android XR, and that includes over 150 experiences that tap into the power of the XR glasses.
As I opened the NBA app on XREAL Aura and tapped the tabletop option, I watched the coffee table in front of me transform into a basketball court, complete with models of each player moving around the court in real-time. It was as if I were a giant looking in through the top of the arena. Not only could I get as close or as far away as I wanted, but all the game’s important stats were right there for me to peruse. The video below is taken from the Apple Vision Pro, but the experience is similar on XREAL Aura.
It was one of the most convincing reasons I’ve seen to own a pair of legit smart glasses, and the very reason XREAL chose to launch with Google’s Android XR at its core. All your favorite Android apps are here and work exactly as you hoped, and a curated selection of 150 now delivers a real sense of presence to the heart and soul of each app’s experience.
But it’s not just about compatibility or interoperability, either. The reach of Google’s Android platform means that big names like NBA, NASCAR, the San Francisco Ballet Company, Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, and so many more are playable in-glasses on day one, many with bespoke XR experiences.
Gamers will also be excited to know that Fallout is making a return in Fallout: Factions, a new strategy title for two players that brings classic units to a new tabletop experience. Then, there’s Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars, an original mixed reality game with a story that takes place during the weeks Rocky and Ryland Grace spent trying to survive in space in the untold section of the novel (and movie) during the journey to Eridani.
Acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis is even in on the mix with Nevatars, an Android XR exclusive that follows a character artist’s abandoned digital creations and will be free for the first 6 months. And then there’s Asteroid, a new type of immersive film from Doug Liman that takes the cinematic storytelling of a movie and meshes it with interactive gameplay. This one’s exclusive to Android XR and free for XREAL Aura owners
Some of the most popular VR developers are also on board, including Resolution Games, who returns with a fresh port of the D&D-like strategy game, Demeo, plus the Android XR-exclusive Holochess (which is already on the Play Store). Holochess transforms the normally turn-based chess rules into a real-time strategy battle of Clankers vs. Xenoswarm, all on the table right in front of you. This 2-player game is free-to-play, and a third faction can be unlocked for $2.99.
There are also a ton of spatial games and experiences to play, as well as. Simply Piano XR merges physical instruments with virtual ones, giving you a real-time way to learn and improve your music skills while wearing your glasses. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg as developers continue to branch out with new, creative ways of using spatial computing devices like XREAL Aura.
