The public sale opened at 10 a.m. Central on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026. Fans attempting to buy tickets to a newly added Nov. 7, 2026, matinee at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City found themselves shut out by what organizers described as a wave of automated purchasing bots.

    What Stopped the Sale

A halted AXS sale and an unresolved show leave Kansas City fans waiting for answers.

Team Garth announced the halt and cited “excessive bot activity” as the reason, stating that Brooks and his promoters were evaluating the show’s next steps.

The sale ran through AXS. According to a report by KMBC citing an underlying news release, each seat carried a $140 base fare, a $5 facility fee, and a $10 service charge before taxes, with the official venue listing presenting the total as $155 plus applicable taxes , the kind of layered costs fans may not realize they’re paying too much for until they reach checkout.

How many automated accounts were involved and how much inventory was affected have not been publicly established. It is also unclear whether a technical failure contributed to the disruption alongside the bot activity.

No replacement on-sale date or confirmed resolution had been announced as of Oct. 24, 2026.

Brooks addressed fans directly after the halt. He described the bot problem as something that had grown progressively worse throughout the tour, saying “This is out of hand,” according to a post attributed to @garthbrooks on Oct. 23, 2026.

He apologized to fans who had attempted to purchase tickets. Brooks said he would personally look into what could be done for anyone who had successfully completed a purchase before the halt.

The Show That Prompted the Rush

Strong demand for the original Kansas City dates drove the addition of a third performance that bots then targeted.

The Nov. 7 matinee was a third Kansas City date added in response to high demand for the original Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 performances. Brooks has previously sold out T-Mobile Center 16 times, a record that helps explain why a newly announced show would draw immediate, heavy traffic.

The 2026 “Blame It All on My Roots” tour revives the arena format of Brooks’ 1996 World Tour, including the return of the Drum Pod associated with his late-1990s touring production. The tour is also being recorded for a live project titled “Killer Live.”

Brooks has described the arena format as a way to ensure every seat is a good seat. That framing makes the disruption particularly pointed: the uniform pricing structure was intended to put every fan on equal footing before bots entered the queue.

    What Fans Should Watch For

Three questions remain unanswered, and the answers will determine what comes next for Kansas City ticket holders.

Whether the Nov. 7 matinee will proceed at all remains an open question. So does whether tickets already purchased through the interrupted AXS sale will be honored, and how any future sale might limit automated purchasing access.

Fans who attempted to buy tickets, or who completed a purchase before the halt, should monitor official communications from Team Garth and AXS directly for updates on next steps.
