We just spotted a deal at Best Buy that drops Lenovo’s Ryzen Z1 Extreme-powered Legion Go S SteamOS gaming handheld down to $999.99 shipped. This is originally a $900 unit, which has jumped up to fetch as much as $1,580 amid the recent price hikes. Today’s deal takes a huge $580 off that current going rate to mark one of the lowest prices we have tracked for it in recent months. You’re looking at some serious value here considering the lower-end 16GB/512GB variant itself is still going for $850, while this discounted model steps up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for just $150 more. Deals on gaming handhelds have been much harder to come by lately, and this is one of the better offers we’ve seen on the Legion Go S in recent months. Head below for more details.

The Legion Go S highlighted here is one of Lenovo’s more powerful gaming handhelds, with this higher-end configuration pairing a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. You’re getting an 8-inch 120Hz display here, which should be great for playing all your favorite titles on the go, and this model also has the familiar shell with an ergonomic grip design that helps it feel less cramped during longer gaming sessions. Lenovo also fitted the Go S with a larger rear fan than the standard Legion Go to help keep thermals in check, and this one runs SteamOS to deliver a more console-like experience compared with the Windows model we previously tested. You can check out our hands-on impressions of the Windows version here.

Be sure to stop by our gaming accessories deals hub to catch more discounted gaming gear. Microsoft’s Nano Xbox controller is also up for pre-order right now, and you can snag one for $50.

Lenovo Legion Go S PC gaming handheld with SteamOS features:

    • Lenovo PureSight Gaming Display: The 8″ Lenovo PureSight Display offers a larger, ultra-vibrant screen space for immersive gaming. A 120Hz refresh rate and VRR ensure smooth, responsive play. With a 16:10 aspect ratio, 500 nits brightness, 100% sRGB color, and 10-point touch support, visuals are vivid, and interactions precise.
    • AMD Ryzen Z2 Go: Powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor with integrated RDNA graphics
    • Powered by Steam OS: Powered by SteamOS, the Lenovo Legion Go S combines the simplicity of a console with the power of PC gaming. Optimized for gamepad controls, it gets you into games fast with features like quick suspend/resume and seamless system and game updates. Access the full Steam ecosystem—your Steam Library, plus Steam Cloud, Steam Chat, Steam Game Recording, and more—on an operating system optimized for gaming.
    • Take Full Control: Legion TrueStrike Controllers deliver all-day comfort and precision with an anti-slip texture for total control. Adjustable triggers switch effortlessly between short and long presses. Hall effect joysticks and triggers ensure smooth, accurate movements. A touchpad, Pivot D-Pad, RGB joysticks, and Legion O power button add style and functionality.
