Being a responsible consumer is just so attractive these days, and the good news for anyone looking to take on that mantle is that we’ve got some great hardware options that make it easier than ever. Companies like Fairphone have been creating devices designed not to break and be replaced, but to support easy repairs, allowing us to seriously reduce our e-waste impact. We’ve been looking forward to the initial launch of the Fairbuds 2 repairable earbuds, and now that it’s finally arrived, we’re getting some fresh details about US sales.
Right on schedule, Fairphone formally introduced the Fairbuds 2 yesterday. The earbuds, along with their case, are both smaller and lighter than the inaugural Fairbuds, and offer 50% better battery life. But those upgrades don’t mean forgetting about what makes these earbuds special, and this model breaks down into 7 replaceable parts for long-term maintenance.
