Here are the details.
New MacBook Pro and premium AI PCs expected to fuel demand
In a report released today, Counterpoint Research projects that advanced notebook display shipments will grow 11% in 2026 compared to 2025, with OLED notebook display shipments expected to rise 50% for the period.
The report notes that the 11% growth in advanced notebook display shipments will comfortably outperform the broader notebook display market, which Counterpoint says it expects to decline 3% year over year.
Counterpoint says it also expects OLED to widen its lead over MiniLED in the advanced notebook display market, rising from 56% of shipments in 2025 to 75% in 2026, while MiniLED is expected to drop from 44% to 25%.

The research company says part of the growth in OLED notebook panel shipments is expected to come from Apple’s adoption of the technology in its next-generation MacBook Pro, currently rumored to be announced on October 27 with a touchscreen display and a redesigned, significantly lighter chassis.
OLED notebook display shipments are forecast to rise 50% in 2026 and another 24% in 2027. Apple’s anticipated adoption of OLED in next-generation MacBook Pro models, alongside continued demand for premium AI PCs, is expected to drive this growth.
Another factor contributing to OLED’s growth, Counterpoint says, is technology and manufacturing advances such as tandem OLED architectures, which improve brightness, power efficiency, and panel longevity.
Apple already uses tandem OLED in the iPad Pro, where two OLED layers work together to deliver higher full-screen brightness. The company is widely expected to use a similar two-stack tandem OLED architecture for the upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
Looking ahead, Counterpoint expects OLED notebook panel shipments to grow at a compounded annual rate of 26% between 2024 and 2030, while panel revenue is forecast to grow at 35% per year over the same period.
