MacRumors spotted reports in its forums and on Reddit. There are enough of them to indicate that it is a real issue, but few enough to suggest that it’s not widespread.
I have noticed that I would hear a popping noise coming from my upper or lower speaker, almost as if someone is pulling out a aux cord and you hear a brief click pop noise. I feel like it has happened a couple times during app switching and playing around with volume and possibly voice dictation.
Reports of the variables involved don’t point to a consistent pattern, and some are suggesting it may be software rather than hardware related. I haven’t encountered it on my device.
