Lenovo today put a spotlight on its Googlebook release, also confirming that initial pricing was incorrect and that the Lenovo Googlebook 15 will, in fact, start at $1,099.
The Lenovo Googlebook 15 is one of the first five machines running the new Googlebook OS which replaces ChromeOS. This is designed for “professionals, creators, and business owners,” Lenovo said in a press release:

It’s certainly a workhorse, with core specs including a 15-inch OLED 120Hz refresh rate, Intel Core Ultra 5 processors, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. Lenovo also touts a haptic trackpad, 12.5-hour battery life, top-facing Dolby Atmos speakers, a metal chassis, and Lenovo even built a wireless mouse with a matching “Glowbar” for the Googlebook platform.
And it’s cheaper than we first thought.
Google initially announced that the Lenovo Googlebook 15 would start at $1,299, but Lenovo has now confirmed it actuallystarts at $1,099. That’s for the model with 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a Core Ultra 5 chip. Google Store, for some reason, still lists the machine at $1,149, but Best Buy has the correct pricing.
Lenovo says its Googlebook, like others, will be available starting on <a href="https://myappsplus.com/october-prime-day-apple-deals-guide-buy-now-or-wait/” title=”October Prime Day Apple deals guide: Buy now or wait?”>October 4.
This isn’t the only model where Google messed up the intial pricing announcement. The Dell XPS Googlebook was initially announced at a starting price of $1,199, but is actually $999.
These probably aren’t a result of feedback on the high overall pricing – Best Buy was always showing the correct prices, so this was only on Google’s end – but Google hasn’t publicly acknowledged exactly what’s going on. For those actually looking to buy a Googlebook, though, lower prices are great news. Asusand HP’s Googlebooks still start at $1,299, while the Acer Googlebook is the most affordable of the lot at $899.
