A Stuart man is facing charges for allegedly possessing child pornography that was created using artificial intelligence, according to the Stuart Police Department. (SPD)
SPD says that Daniel Perez, 28, was arrested by Stuart Police detectives after an investigation in which they discovered that he was not only in possession of AI-generated child pornography, but also child sexual abuse material.
Perez is facing charges related to the allegations.
“As technology continues to change, so do the ways people can use it to exploit children. This case is a reminder that use of AI does not make this type of conduct any less serious or any less criminal. Our detectives will continue to investigate the use of technology to facilitate the exploitation of children and pursue those responsible,” SPD said in a Facebook post.
