Logitech’s iconic Blue Yeti microphone finally has a successor, with the new Blue Yeti 2 now up for grabs at $159.99 shipped. The original Yeti has been around for years and has become one of the most recognizable USB microphones out there, and Logitech is now building on that familiar formula with some meaningful upgrades. The new model adds AI-powered noise reduction, automatic voice tracking, a built-in color display, and more, while retaining the plug-and-play approach that made the original so popular. Logitech Yeti 2 brings some genuinely useful upgrades
The biggest change with the Blue Yeti 2 is that it can now do a lot more of the setup work for you. Logitech has added a new voice proximity sensor that can detect where you’re speaking from and automatically adjust things like gain, EQ, and the pickup pattern as you move around. That should come in particularly handy for streamers, podcasters, and anyone else who doesn’t want to constantly tweak mic settings every time they shift around at their desk.
There’s also an AI-powered de-noiser onboard to help cut down background sounds such as keyboard clicks, fans, and other room noise. The Yeti 2 still keeps the plug-and-play approach of the original model, though, so you can connect it over USB-C and start using it without having to spend much time configuring everything first.
Another notable addition is the 1.3-inch color display on the front. It can show things like audio levels and settings at a glance, while the dial underneath lets you make quick adjustments directly from the mic. Logitech has also added a bit of personality to the screen with a small Yeti character, and you can even create your own 8-bit avatar through G HUB software. Under the hood, the new model uses a redesigned three-capsule array and records at up to 24-bit/48kHz. You’re also getting “Blue VO!CE processing” support for additional presets through G HUB, and a die-cast body that keeps the familiar desktop-friendly Yeti design.
